Flapjacks

With the start of the Great British Bake Off this week, here’s Chattie's recipe for paleo flapjacks – a healthy and delicious treat.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 300g unrolled oats
  • 75g crushed walnuts
  • 200g honey
  • The zest and juice of ½ orange

1. Preheat the oven to 180C
2. Grease and line a shallow 20cm square tin
3. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, into a thick paste
4. Tip the mixture into the tin, level and press with the back of a spoon
5. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden around the edges
6. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes then mark into pieces while still warm
7. Cool completely before turning out onto a board and cutting with a sharp knife
